Why doesn't Revenge and Appeasement work?

In previous events in history we have learned that that some countries and specific people try to get revenge. However, we do know some people didn't do anything when countries or specific people were doing things they shouldn't have been which is known as appeasement. So we know that based on past history that revenge and appeasement both do not work out.
Revenge may feel good to get on someone or some other country, but does not it end up good in the long run? A huge part of history is when Britain and France wanted to get revenge on Germany so they added all these restrictions to the Treaty of Versailles. One big thing that the Treaty of Versailles required was for Germany to take fault for the whole war and since Germany lost they did. Germany also had to give land back to France and they were not aloud to have more than a 100,000 troops and they couldn’t have airplanes for war and were only aloud 6 boats. So this led Germany ended up feeling like they were cheated out on the war and the fact that it wasn’t just their fault. After the war a man named Adolph Hitler came along. He was working on getting his revenge on Britain and France by getting Austria- Hungry and Czechoslovakia. He even built up troops and broke the Treaty of Versailles, which would then lead to some appeasement.
Is it better to sit back and do nothing or stand up for yourself or country instead of letting things keep happening, which is known as appeasement. On September 1, 1939 Germany tried to conquer Poland and Britain and France declared war on Germany. This war was known as World War 2. War could have been avoided if Britain and France would have done something from the start when Adolph Hitler was weak. Germany started building up their armies, air forces, troops were sent into Rhine lands, made and alliance with Italy, and take over Austria- Hungry to be apart of Germany. At that time Britain and France did nothing about it which is appeasement and helping Germany gain it’s revenge. Then finally Britain and France stepped in when Germany tried to take over Czechoslovakia. Although Germany still gained the land because of the Munich agreement. Germany then takes over the rest of Czechoslovakia and then Britain and France give them an ultimatum. Then finally when Germany went for Poland they stepped in and World War 2 started. And, because they sat around the war occurred because they could have stopped everything when Adolph Hitler was weak at the beginning.
So, revenge and appeasement both do not work. Revenge leads to both being hurt in the end and in this case a world war. Also, appeasement doesn’t work because World War 2 starts because of Britain and France doing nothing. So in the end neither side works and there was created something in between of revenge and appeasement.

2nd part of Europe Homework and Warm ups!

    a. What were the causes of the Protestant Reformation? Social, Political, Economics, and Religious deals. For social deals it was the fact that people started to value humanism. For the Political side it was the fact that powerful monarch we starting to  go against the church for major power. For the economic side of things was Princes and princesses of Europe were getting jealous of the money and wealth the church had. For the Religious problems Some major leaders of the church went worldly corrupt.

    b. What were the effects of the Protestant Reformation? It eventually led to a war with Germany. But also the fact that there was no one left to run or teach from the clergy men. The ones that were left could barley read yet alone try and teach a ton of Europeans. Then Martin Luther challenged the church and started his own teaches. It allowed people to there for interpret the bible for themselves and not have to have a priest teach them and the fact that people could only win salvation by winning god's forgiveness. Luther had peasants get furious and try to burn down the church and the princess of Germany's army kill up to 100,000 people because she thought he had them try to burn the church down for his own selfish reasonings. Then Henry vill became king of England and helped marriage problems because he wanted to divorce his 42 year old wife because she could have kids anymore and he wanted to marry someone younger and the church could disapprove. It eventually led to the fall of the popes's power.

C.  Example of why people thought that religion was a joke.

Martin Luther gave many different ways of studying Religion than what the clergy and pope and they priest gave the people. From there people were aloud to interpret the bible on their own and not have to listen to a priest and also the fact that and could win god's salvation. People probably thought it was a joke that they would have to win gods salvation. But they also didn't want to trust the priest and church because they weren't able to read and understand the bibles themselves rather than just being taught out of the bible.

Part 1 essay
The United State soon to fall? Is there some  similarities between the fall of Rome and whats going on in the United States today? The U.S is have problems with people staying with there values, keeping good health, and unemployment.
The biggest problem that the U.S is facing is our health. Obesity has became a huge problem. People over eating can kill people as fast of the black plague did to Europe because of the bad sanitary conditions. Over eating can shut down major organs the body needs to live. Then Unemployment is getting harsh to. Although the and averaged of 8% of people are out of jobs  today isn't that much its still a problem because our jobs are being moved to other countries to be produced cheaper. In Rome many people were out of jobs and didn't have much money so people lived out on the unsanitary roads. Then a really big thing that is going on in the U.S is the decline in moral values. People are starting to not want to work for what they have. They don't want to do anything that doesn't benefit themselves. Plus watching Tv shows like the Jersey Shore and other things that are meant to entertain like radios, magazines, etc. This then leads to people taking action like famous celebrities do which declines the moral values. For Rome that wasn't really the problem.   In Rome people went to church and stayed to the moral values pretty well.
Is the fall of United States soon? Possibly if we keep following the same paths as rome fell down. With unemployment, decline in values, and health, plus many more issues the end could be coming closer than we know it.

Part 2
1. One major problem is health. In Rome the black plague was a disease that killed 1/3 of their population. Health was a major problem during Rome, due to the fact of streets being unsanitary and filthy with no one bathing or anything like that because they thought it was natural for them all to be dirty and smell instead of bathing in the rivers. In the United States our problem is obesity which mean people have weight problems. Obesity leads to health conditions that could lead to death like diabetes, heart problems, etc. This is like the problem Rome had because we could being killing ourselves and not even know it and even how we are.

2. Another big problem that Rome faced was the unemployment. Rome had people living on filthy streets because people were unemployed and not able to provide for themselves. This probably even helped spread diseases. In the United States employment rates change all the time. But we do have people who struggle providing for themselves as well but now days people get help through taxes.

3. One more big problem Rome faced was their education. There education wasn't the best if you think about how they didn't know anything about the diseases they were getting and didn't really bother to learn it till a 1/3 of the population had died. But because of the lack of knowledge, they had to eventually lead into a feudal system because they didn't even know how to defend themselves do to lack of technology too. In the U.S that isn't really a problem besides the fact of kids not wanting to learn because they want to do what ever they want. But the technology in the U.S is advanced which helps the U.S in its case.

1/29/13How was the geography of Rome different from that of Greece?Rome and Greece are similar in the how the land is. They both have mountain ranges and flat plains. The both are also located near water to probably help with the fertileness of the soil for agriculture. Rome is located in Italy and from a map of Italy, you can see that it has a lot of flat area meaning there is plains but toward areas of the water there is mountain ranges. There are some rivers in Italy though. There is although Italy does have the Apennine Mountains. Greece have the Terrain mountains.  But do to where Rome and Greece are located Rome receives warmer weather because it being closer to the Atlantic ocean do to the coriolis effect.

10. Rome falls to German invaders in 476 AD, ending the Western

???? Fall of the United States ????
The Roman Empire eventually fell after hundreds of years of being one of the strongest if not the strongest of empires. They eventually fell to what seemed to me of been because of selfishness with in their drinking, partying, having prostitutes, and watching people fight to the death for their own satisfaction. Although Romans fell because of many actions; could it lead to the United States falling? Is it possible that we are falling the same ways the Roman empire did slowly? The roman empire fell so now do to many reasons the romans did is it time for the United state to be ended?
The Romans had fallen do to selfishness it had seemed. The decline in the roman values was how they were being selfish for their own satisfaction with the excesive drinking till ill, watching people fight to the death, prostitutions, and the parties they would have for days. The public and health of the people was not that great until they were the first to create medicine for the poor, although disease spread because of exposure to blood and other diseases. They also had a lot of trouble choosing new emperors. It wasn't consistent because to become emperor you had to have the highest bid for the throne. Many people even became unemployed. This happened because there was no more gold to create riches. So to even trade for goods they needed it was with other goods like food, clothing, etc. Then it even got to a point in to which prices on all goods were raised. Considering the people of the Roman empire who couldn't pay a 500 dollar fee a year to live on lower ground apartments, the people who couldn't afford that price had to have an apartment towards the top for 40 dollars a year, which was extremely hot, and dirty, dangerous, and crowded. Due to the need of relying on labor they didn't invent any new technology really. They also had to take freedoms away from people because no one wanted to join the army so they spent a lot of money getting people to join the army. To make it all worse the population was crowed to.
The United State going to fall? The United States has shown some mistakes of the fall of the Roman empire. Yet, it has done good compared to the Romans history. The United States has not really had a decline of morals and values because due to religious studies people focus on what they should be and less on focusing on themselves. However for the health of the United States we have health insurance to help with peoples health. Yet you have people that don't care and are just letting themselves fall apart. Another thing that is falling apart for the United States is our political side of things. What is going on is the fact during elections people try to earn votes by promising all these things but never once keep those promises most of the time. For example raising taxes on the lower class citizens. Which isn't a benefit of the society. Unemployment is a big problem of the United States. Jobs are going to China leading many people without jobs. Also having people wanting to sit around all day and get unemployment checks. Urban decay is another problem. Businesses go out of work every day and there is not money to put no more things in. Technology is a good thing for the United States however. We have more advance ways of communication like phones, text, and emails. As well as tools for jobs like farming and factories, etc, and making them easier. As well for our military spendings we just don't have enough money to provide everything they need. But unlike Rome we have people going out and signing up for war all the time. Our population is growing to fast as well do to immigration.
As for the fall of the United States, we could be close. We are falling into the same actions as Rome did. It seems to me money has always been a problem in falls of empires as well with greediness and selfishness. If we don't fix actions today we could /be invaded and taken over at any time even tomorrow.
